sketch girl need advice

hi eli. try tracing for starters. from magazines. this will help u to get facial proportions right. The face is difficult .the slightest line out especially around the eyes tends to throw the drawing out . For realism u cant beat photo refs. forget that art school rap. about life drawing. if u want to animate use anything to improve your drawing. I applied for a job last week teaching drawing and painting and I didnt get it. And I draw and paint for 30 years. Colleges suck. theyre stuck in the 10th century. they have no vision especially in the illustrative side of art which is just as valid as so called fine art. all the victorian artists used trace paper and worked from photo refs. u can always alter the finished drawing to suit and dont be afraid to use an eraser . I draw loosely then refine it as i work on it. Ill post a couple of rough drawings to my user page for u to compare. be brave. and save your rubbish drawings so u can see how u improve. love K
